The YCDI! Early Childhood Program has in its first 12 months of release become a runaway hit in Australia with over 50,000 children ages 4 - 6 receiving the program. In March, Michael Bernard published a set of social and emotional learning (SEL) standards that specifies in great detail what children of all ages need to be able to know and do in the social and emotional domain including the SEL capabilities related to Resilience, Positive Work Orientation and Positive Social Orientation. In his latest workshops throughout England and Australia, educators at all levels of schooling embraced these SEL capabilities as a key learning area along with academic learning areas. Michael Bernard's recent workshop series "Cognitive-Behavioral Interventions for Young People with Behavior and Achievement Problems" have been well received and coincides with the release of his new book The REBT Therapist's Pocket Companion for Working with Children and Adolescents (New York: Albert Ellis Institute, pp. 245). The ACER Well-Being surveys are now being used in a school district in Southern California and continue to be employed to measure well-being and social and emotional competence in many schools throughout Australia. In England, Michael Bernard's "Investing in Parents" program is being used by many schools and in LEAs as a resource for providing universal access to information on effective parenting practices.
